Mr. Spratling has engaged in a broad public finance practice since 1981 and has been "nationally-recognized bond counsel" for over thirty years. His practice has focused on industrial and commercial development, infrastructure, utility and education financings, with longtime service as counsel to the Birmingham Industrial Development Board. Ben also serves as counsel to underwriters and banks in connection with public and private finance transactions and to new and expanding businesses with respect to realizing state and local tax benefits.
Mr. Spratling was named the Best Lawyers® 2018 Birmingham Public Finance Law "Lawyer of the Year" and has been listed in each annual edition of THE BEST LAWYERS IN AMERICA in the practice area of Public Finance Law, 2010 – 2020.
